La Noche de las velitas è una delle festività più importanti del periodo natalizio in Colombia e si celebra dal 7 dicembre nelle strade, piazze e parchi delle città. Questa ricorrenza nata nel 1854 è entrata a far parte della cultura popolare colombiana. Le famiglie accendono centinaia di candele e lanterne di fronte alle loro abitazioni e lungo le vie della città, illuminando le strade e i luoghi pubblici che grazie alla creatività dei colombiani possono diventare particolarmente vivaci e fantasiosi.

Le candele significano luce e calore, ma sono, in questa ricorrenza, simbolo di fiducia e ottimismo, che Estran vi augura per il prossimo anno.

 

 

La Noche de las velitas is one of the most important feast of the Christmas period in Colombia and is celebrated from December 7th in the streets, squares and parks of the cities. This anniversary,started in 1854, has become part of Colombian popular culture. Families light hundreds of candles and lanterns in front of their homes and along the streets of the city, illuminating the streets and public places that, thanks to the creativity of Colombians, can become particularly lively and imaginative.
